Moda Operandi takes on Couture 2017
If there is anything that comes close to the A/W Fashion Week in the jewelry world it would be the convergence of jewelry trade shows that happen in Las Vegas the first week of June.
Only open to the trade and press - and instagrammed widely - designers and brands showcase their latest new collections to buyers and editors. Consumers often must wait months for orders to be filled and new pieces to arrive at retailers.
Moda Operandi, who introduced the concept of ordering a piece of clothing straight off the runway - and effectively bypassing the opinions of editors and buyers - has delved into a similar model for jewelry.
In partnership with The Couture Show, 20 trunkshows went live during the trade event. The international roster of designers included in this offering are Elena Votsi, Eva Fehren, Carolina Bucci, Fred Leighton, Yeprem, Suzanne Kalan, Nikos Koulis, Annette Ferdinandsen, GEMFIELDS x MUSE, Amrapali, Kavant & Sharart, Sydney Evan, Nancy Newberg, Pamela Huizenga, Marie Mas, Foundrae, Bayco, Hueb, Silvia Furmanovich and Sutra.
While the full collections are not on offer - jewelers often present considerably more options than a typical runway show - there is a wide selection. Most of the new designs are made to order and sent directly to clients, with the exception of some antique or one-of-a-kind pieces.
Below I have selected my top 10 pieces available to order:
The trunk shows have differing end dates beginning July 15, so place your orders before then!
