Met Gala 2017: 10 Jewelry Looks

When the dress code is stated as ‘avant-garde’, you know that just about anything could come down the red carpet at the Met Gala.

This year’s spring exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute focuses on the sartorial experimentations of Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons label. Only the second show for a living designer (the first was Yves Saint Laurent), she certainly pushed the bounds herself and guests of the opening gala on Monday, May 1 were asked to do the same. Some committed fully while others ignored the theme altogether - and the rest fell on some spectrum in between.

When it came to jewelry, the choices (for the most part) were actually rather safe. This doesn’t detract from the fact that there were many very beautiful pieces, however. Below I have highlight 10 of my favorite looks:
