Chopard Teases 2017 Red Carpet Collection
Over the last few years, Chopard has played a large role in helping the Cannes red carpet compete with Hollywood for jewelry wattage.
For 20 years, the Geneva-based jeweller has been a partner of the Cannes Film Festival, which this year is celebrating its 70th edition. Makers of the coveted Palm d’Or prize and outfitter to many a star gracing the fabled steps, the maison also takes this opportunity to debut new collections.
70 pieces from the 2017 Red Carpet Collection will be presented, a few of which Chopard are sharing ahead of the May 17th opening. Classically elegant chandelier earrings, exuberantly bright cuffs, as well playful designs in semi-precious stones give some idea of what’s to come.
The festival also marks the official debut of Rihanna Loves Chopard - a special variation on the Ice Cube collection and several one-off high jewelry pieces. Attending this year as part of the cast of 'Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets’, the singer and actress has been quietly introducing the high jewelry pieces at events like the Grammys and last night’s Met Gala - and will surely dazzle once again on the Côte d’Azur.
The Cannes Film Festival runs May 17-28, 2017.
