The Al Thani Collection in Paris

The Al Thani Collection is continuing its worldwide tour with a stop in Paris at the Grand Palais from March 29 to June 5.

The Al Thani Collection is a private collection that is focused on jewels from India or those inspired by India, spanning 400 years from the Mughal period to the present day. On exhibition in Paris will be 250 jewels from the exceptional collection, along with loans from major institutions and private collections.

Each exhibition is different from the other as curators from the host museum have a hand in designing the show. I was fortunate enough to have visited in both New York and London, where it was one room at the Metropolitan Museum and a series of (very dark) interconnected rooms at the V&A, and so is well worth going to see again.
